  According to the latest issue of the reputable ThoughtWork's Technology Radar, "TypeScript is a carefully considered language and its consistently improving tools and IDE support continues to impress us". Surveys on Stackoverflow consistently show that TypeScript is one of the most loved languages. TypeScript compiles to JavaScript, which is the most popular language in the world. This presentation is a brief overview of TypeScript, whose popularity grows by leaps and bounds.

Modern IDEs are quite complex. Even IDE developers say that they sometimes discover new features only while reading the IDE’s code. And does this sound familiar: your colleague is trying to find a class in the project tree, and he doesn’t remember the name of the class, and so you are trying hard to scream:“Just press Ctrl+Shift+E!!!“
Generally, developers just use IDE and so often do not utilize the power of automated refactorings, shortcuts, fast navigation, and other awesome features that IDEs provide.

• Yakov Fain

  Yakov Fain is managing director at IT consultancy Farata Systems, where he develops web apps for various clients. Yakov is the coauthor of Angular Development with TypeScript (1st and 2nd editions), Enterprise Web Development, and several books on Java. A Java Champion, he has taught multiple classes and workshops on web and Java-related technologies, presented at international conferences, and published more than a thousand blog posts. Yakov lives in New York City.
